Behavioral Threat Assessment Training

  • Behavioral Threat Assessment Training : Vermont’s Agency of Education, Department of Public Safety and the Vermont School Safety Center are pleased to provide a Behavioral Threat Assessment (BTA) training initiative designed to prevent active shooter incidents, stalking and other targeted violence in our schools and school districts. This training is provided by SIGMA Threat Management Associates. Click here  to view a recording of one of our BTA trainings, delivered in October 2021. The final BTA Awareness Training will be delivered on March 16th, 2022.

Webinar: Handling Threats and Other Disturbing Behavior on Campus

Marisa Randazzo (PDF), Ph.D., principal and co-founder of SIGMA Threat Management Associates, LLC, will review the components and procedures of behavioral threat assessment, which is recognized as current best practice to prevent violence on campus. During this free webinar, Marisa will:

  • Provide a checklist of best-practice components
  • Discuss how to evaluate current threat assessment programs or add threat assessment capabilities to a behavioral intervention team or CARE team
  • Establish screening questions to know when it is important to use threat assessment
  • Provide tips on conducting threat assessments in the shadow of high profile mass shootings

The webinar is appropriate for professionals from public safety, student affairs, counseling / EAP, human resources, emergency management, risk management, and general counsel.
