Vermont School Safety Center Online Trainings

These online trainings are created specifically for Vermont and are available for you and your team to take anytime.

This training is a collaboration with the Department of Mental Health and School Safety Liaison Officer.  During this training, you will walk through the steps you can take to de-escalate situations and prevent violence.

This training is a collaboration between the Vermont Emergency Management and School Safety Liaison Officer.  During this training, you will learn about the different types of emergency exercises, best practices for exercising, and how to create a training and exercise plan for your school.

This training is a collaboration between the Vermont Emergency Management and School Safety Liaison Officer.  During this training, you will learn about family reunification resources and best practices offered through the Standard Reunification Method.

This training is a collaboration between the Howard Center and School Safety Liaison Officer.  During this training, you learn about best practices for home visits, including preparedness, physical safety, presentation of self, skills, and resources, including the Home Visit Checklist.

This training is offered by the Vermont Department of Health Emergency Medical Services Office.  During this training, you will gain an understanding of the Vermont Emergency Medical Services System and how Emergency Medical Services may be used during a Mass Casualty Incident.

This training is offered by the School Safety Liaison Officer.  We have learned that no one size response plan fits each active shooter incident and that teachers, administrators and students need to have an “options based response approach” that is available to them, based on the specific set of circumstances they are dealing with at the time of the incident. This webinar discusses what those different options are and how schools might implement an Options-Based Approach.

This training is a collaboration between Vermont Emergency Management and  the School Safety Liaison Officer.  During this training, you will receive an overview of the Supervisory Union/District Checklist provided by the Vermont School Crisis Planning Team.

This training is a collaboration with the E 9-1-1 Board and School Safety Liaison Officer.  This training provides an overview of the 9-1-1 system and what to expect when you call 9-1-1
