The Vermont Department of Public Safety is seeking applications for School Safety and Security grant projects. This funding, provided through Act 42 of the Vermont Capital Bill, will allow Vermont Schools and Supervisory Unions to purchase enhancements to existing security systems or school infrastructure or new school security systems or technology that will enhance school safety. Under this bill, capital grants of up to $25,000.00 per school may be awarded and each school shall be required to provide a 25 percent match to the grant amount, which shall be met through dollars raised and not in-kind services.
This program is open to public, private and independent schools in Vermont. Schools which received funding in the last round of SSSG are not eligible for funding on the new round. Applications will be reviewed by the School Safety and Security Grant Working Group.
The 2019 School Safety and Security Grant program offers over $1.4 Million for School Safety infrastructure improvements.
